Seat Alhambra Exhaust Flap Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2004 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine is experiencing issues with the exhaust flaps, leading to louder exhaust noise and a noisy engine after a cold start. The problem is suspected to be a defective exhaust flap, which also affects engine performance at lower RPMs. The suggested solution is to visit a workshop to inspect and potentially replace the exhaust components, specifically the exhaust valves, which resolved the issue in a similar case.

Yes, engine performance seemed a bit off, especially at lower RPMs. How did you resolve your exhaust noise? Did you notice any exhaust blockage?

Yes, that sounds like what I experienced. I would suggest a workshop visit to check the exhaust components. They will know more about exhaust valves.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. I got the exhaust valves replaced. Total cost was 190€. Runs much better now.

I think I had a similar issue with my Alhambra. Loud exhaust noise, especially on cold starts. Was your engine performance also affected?
