Seat Alhambra fuel flap issue
Summary of the thread
The issue with the 2017 Seat Alhambra's fuel flap was that the release mechanism was not working, and an error was stored in the vehicle's error memory. The problem was suspected to be a defective linkage or a potential CAN bus issue. After checking the fuses and confirming the central locking system was functioning, it was determined that the lock actuator for the fuel flap had likely failed. A workshop diagnosis confirmed the defective lock actuator, which was then replaced, resolving the issue.

I have checked the fuses related to central locking and they appear to be intact. The central locking system functions normally with the key fob, except for the fuel flap release. Could it still be a CAN bus issue if other functions are working?

Given that the central locking is functional and the fuses are good, it is less likely to be a global CAN bus issue, although a localized fault within the comfort system cannot be ruled out. The fact that other functions are impacted points to a controller problem. It is probable that the lock actuator for the fuel flap has failed, or the wiring to it is damaged. A diagnostic scan should pinpoint the fault. It's best to get it to a workshop for proper diagnosis and repair.

Thank you for the confirmation. I had it checked at a workshop and the diagnosis was exactly as you described. The defective lock actuator was replaced, and the fuel flap now operates correctly. Total cost was 210€.

The symptoms you describe, particularly the error memory entry and the unavailability of other vehicle functions, suggest a potential CAN bus issue in addition to the fuel flap release mechanism. Have you checked the relevant fuses? Does the central locking system respond correctly to the key fob?
