Seat Alhambra Heating Issue
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Seat Alhambra with a gasoline engine had a heating issue where barely any heat was emitted. The problem was diagnosed with an error code, and the repair shop suspected a faulty water valve or a possible issue with the cable or plug connection. After checking the coolant level and ensuring the engine temperature was normal, the defective water valve was identified as the cause. Replacing the valve resolved the heating issue.

Coolant level is fine, and the engine temp seems normal. When you had the problem with your Passat, was it a pain to get to the water valve? The repair shop mentioned something about checking the plug connection first, since the error code could point to that.

Yep, sounds more and more like the water valve. A bad connection could definitely cause issues, but if that doesn't fix it, replacing the valve is probably the way to go. Honestly, messing with the cooling system can be tricky, and if they've already diagnosed it, 95€ doesn't sound too bad to have it sorted, especially before it gets really cold. Engine overheating is way worse than a cold bum!

Just wanted to say thanks for the advice. Turned out to be a defective water valve, just like you suspected. They said the cable and plug looked fine, so they swapped the automotive valve. Cost me 95€. Heating is working perfectly now!

Low heating output and an error code? Sounds like it could be the water valve controlling flow to the heater core. I had a similar issue with my old Passat a few years back. First, have you checked the coolant level? Is the engine overheating at all?
