Seat Alhambra Lighting Fault

I'm writing about a perplexing issue concerning my Seat Alhambra, built in 2011, with a gasoline engine. The lights switch on without input, and an error is consistently stored in the error memory. Research suggests a defective cable or plug connection of the component. Has anyone encountered a similar issue and might offer some guidance?

That sounds like a frustrating electrical problem. Have you checked the fuse box related to the car lighting system? Sometimes a blown fuse can cause similar symptoms before you dig into the automotive switch.

Thanks for the suggestion! I did check the fuse box, and all the fuses appear to be intact. However, I'm not entirely sure I checked the correct ones. Could you possibly provide more information about which specific fuses are responsible for the headlight switch?

If fuses are fine, the issue might be the switch itself, or perhaps the wiring harness leading to it. It could be difficult to pinpoint. If you aren't comfortable tracing wires, a workshop visit might be best.

As suspected, it was a defective automotive switch. I took it to a local mechanic and they confirmed the diagnosis. They replaced the headlight switch, and now the car lighting works perfectly again. The repair cost me approximately 95€. Thanks for your help and guidance in troubleshooting this electrical problem!
