Seat Alhambra Oil Level Sensor Fault

I'm getting stressed. An error message keeps popping up on my Seat Alhambra, a 2002 diesel. It says something about the oil level sensor signal being faulty. The oil pressure light is also on! Error memory confirms the oil level sensor issue. I'm thinking it might be a cable or the plug. Has anyone else had this?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar sensor issue with my old Renault Megane. The oil pressure light kept coming on even though the oil level was fine. Have you checked the wiring and the plug to the sensor? That was the culprit in my case.

Interesting! Where exactly was the problem in your Megane? Was it visibly corroded or something?

It was the connector itself. I didn't spot any corrosion but the mechanic said the pins were slightly bent and not making good contact. He cleaned it and bent them back but the problem came back after a week so eventually it was replaced. Given your error codes, I'd say it's worth getting it checked by a workshop. Could save you a bigger headache later if it's something simple.

I got it sorted. It was indeed a dodgy connection like you suspected. It cost 95€ to get it fixed. Thanks for the heads up!
