Seat Alhambra Passenger Electric Seat Issue

I am writing to inquire about an issue I am experiencing with my 2017 Seat Alhambra, which has a gasoline engine and approximately 132476 km on the odometer. The passenger electric seat has ceased functioning. An error code is stored in the error memory and seat adjustment is not possible. My initial thought, based on some research, is that a heavily discharged or defective battery might be contributing to the problem. Has anyone encountered a similar problem with their car seats? Any insights into the seat wiring and the automotive seat system would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a really frustrating issue! I had something similar with my Alhambra. Have you checked the seat wiring harness underneath the seat? Sometimes a loose connection there can cause all sorts of weird electrical gremlins. Could also be the seat switch itself. Does the error memory specify anything more?

Thanks for the suggestion! I haven't checked the seat wiring or the switch yet, to be honest I am not very familiar with any of that. Where exactly should I be looking for the seat wiring harness and how would I identify a loose connection? Is it something I can easily check myself?

Yeah, sounds very familiar indeed. I chased that gremlin for days! If it's just the discharged battery, then you should be ok, but the error might persist unless cleared. Honestly, unless you're comfortable poking around the seat harness and potentially messing with the airbag system, I would recommend taking it to a workshop. Messing with that can be dangerous. But, like I mentioned previously definitely make sure that they check the seat wiring and the seat switch.

Took it to the workshop as suggested. It seems a discharged battery was causing the error with the seat. New battery and everything is working fine now. Total bill came to around 290€. Thanks for the help!
