Seat Alhambra radar sensor problem

I'm experiencing a rather unsettling issue with my 2007 Seat Alhambra (gasoline engine). The radar sensor seems to have failed. I'm getting an error message in the speedometer, and the error memory is also flagging it. This sensor malfunction is also causing other systems to fail, triggering a warning light. Could this be a straightforward sensor issue, or is something more at play?

I had a similar issue with my Alhambra. The error messages and warning lights sound very familiar. Have you checked if the sensor is simply dirty? That was the cause in my case.

Interesting. Where exactly is the radar sensor located, and how did you clean it? Is there anything specific I should pay attention to?

The radar sensor is usually behind the front bumper, either in the middle or to one side. I used a soft cloth and some mild all-purpose cleaner to carefully wipe it down. If that doesn't fix it, I would suggest going to a workshop for radar calibration. This is an electronic issue and might affect safety systems and collision avoidance features.

I followed your suggestion and cleaned the radar sensor. It worked! The error message is gone, and all safety systems are functioning correctly again. Total cost: 45€ for the cleaning product. Thank you for your advice!
