Seat Alhambra rear AC issue

I have a 2005 Seat Alhambra with a diesel engine. The air conditioning has ceased cooling, and I suspect a fault with the rear ventilation flap. An error is stored in the error memory, indicating a malfunction of the climate control unit. I believe the likely cause is a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone encountered a similar issue? I estimate the HVAC repair cost to be approximately 95€. Any insights would be greatly appreciated before I delve deeper into the car HVAC system diagnostics.

I see you've performed some initial checks already. When you say 'malfunction of the climate control unit,' can you elaborate? Does the front AC work as expected? And regarding the error code, do you have the specific code number?

Given that the front AC works fine and the problem is isolated to the rear, a defective cable or plug connection to the flap actuator is highly probable. Without the specific error code, it's hard to pinpoint the exact location. However, given the age of the vehicle, a visit to a workshop specializing in car HVAC systems might be the best course of action. They can perform detailed system diagnostics and pinpoint the problem.

The front AC operates perfectly, blowing cold air as it should. It's solely the rear vents that are affected. Concerning the error code, I'm unable to access it at the moment. I was hoping someone might have experienced a similar issue with the rear ventilation flap and could provide some insights on where to start troubleshooting before I perform further system diagnostics.

Thank you! Your input guided me, and I'm relieved to share the issue is resolved. The faulty rear ventilation flap was traced to a defective cable/plug connection as suspected. The HVAC repair was completed for 95€. Now my Alhambra's automatic climate is back to its chilled glory.
