Seat Alhambra reduced engine power

My 2011 Seat Alhambra with a diesel engine is giving me serious headaches. I'm getting reduced engine power, and the error memory is showing a defective engine control unit. Could this be a deep dive into automotive electronics, or is there something simple I am overlooking? I'm thinking it might be the computer module itself. Any ideas before I start tearing into the control system?

Summary of the thread

A 2011 Seat Alhambra with a diesel engine is experiencing reduced engine power, with an error indicating a defective engine control unit. The issue may be related to the main relay supplying power to the engine control unit. Checking and replacing this relay resolved the problem, costing 120€.

I have a Seat Alhambra as well. I experienced something similar some time ago. Did you check the relays related to the engine control system? It could be a simple fix.

Interesting. Which relays should I be focusing on exactly? And where are they located? I'm reasonably handy with vehicle electronics, but could use a pointer.

In my case, it was the main relay supplying power to the engine control unit. Perhaps it is best to consult a workshop.

The engine control unit issue on my Alhambra was a faulty main relay, as suspected. The repair cost 120€ thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
