I haven't checked for refrigerant leak, but the workshop mentioned the error points towards the AC compressor. You mentioned a similar issue. Was it also the compressor in your case or something else?

In my case, it turned out to be the AC compressor. Although it could be automotive cooling related issues, I suggest you get it checked by a professional, as the AC system is complex. It might save you time and money if the problem is not AC unit issues. It is difficult to tell if there is a refrigerant leak without the proper equipment.

As suspected, the AC control unit was indeed faulty. Replacement cost 980€, but the AC works perfectly now.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Altea. The AC stopped working, and there was an error code related to the AC compressor. Have you checked for any refrigerant leak? That can sometimes trigger the same symptoms. Also, sometimes it is just AC unit issues.
