Seat Altea central locking problem

I am experiencing issues with the central locking on my 2004 Seat Altea with a gasoline engine, currently at 115169 km. The doors will not lock or unlock. Diagnostics reveal an error stored in memory. A defective cable or plug connection is suspected. Has anyone encountered this? It impacts the security system.

I drive an Altea too. Had a similar issue with the central locking a while back. Does your car alarm still work?

Alarm seems okay. When your central locking failed, could you still use the key manually in the door?

Manually, yes. But the key fob and central locking button inside didn't do anything. If a new key fob battery doesn't help, it's probably best to get it checked by someone. Turned out to be a broken wire in my case.

Resolution confirmed: Defective cable identified and replaced. Total cost 95€. Thanks for the input.
