Seat Altea cruise control malfunction

My 2013 Seat Altea with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The cruise control stopped working at 99222 km. No speed sensor issues as far as I can tell. It just doesn't engage. There's an error stored in the error memory, pointing to a potentially defective cable or plug connection. I'm wondering if anyone has encountered similar issues with the cruise control system? Any ideas before I start tearing into the throttle position sensor?

Cruise control issues are annoying. I had a similar problem with my Altea. Have you checked the fuse box? Sometimes a blown fuse is the problem. Have you noticed any other dashboard lights?

Mine was intermittent at first, then completely dead. Same error code. I spent ages checking the speed sensor and all sorts. In the end, I gave up and took it to a workshop. They found a corroded connector. Sometimes it's not worth the hassle of doing it yourself. Have you considered going to the shop?

Thanks for the quick reply. I did check the fuses, all seem fine. And no other warning lights are on. What was the problem with your Altea exactly? Was there an error code too?

Just to let you know, I went to the shop as suggested. It turned out to be a defective plug connection, like the error memory said. 95€ later the cruise control is working again. Thanks for the help.
