Seat Altea Diesel Electrical Problems

I'm having a strange issue with my 2013 Seat Altea diesel. It has around 173668 km on the clock. I keep getting overvoltage errors and a ton of fault memory entries. Various systems are failing, and the car battery seems weak when starting. It generally feels like some kind of car electronics malfunction or a power surge is happening. I suspect the battery is heavily discharged or defective, but I'm not sure where to go from here. Any ideas?

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Altea. I remember seeing a bunch of weird errors on the dashboard. Did you check the car battery voltage? That's where I'd start.

Thanks for the quick reply! How did you check the voltage, and what was the next step you took after that?

Yep, same symptoms. I used a multimeter to check the voltage. It was way lower than it should have been. I tried charging the car battery, but it didn't hold the charge. In the end, I just took it to a workshop. They confirmed it was the car battery causing all the electrical issue.

It was a faulty car battery! Replacement cost 290€ and resolved all the electrical issues. Thanks for the help!
