Seat Altea electric steering column problem

I'm having trouble with the electric steering column adjustment on my 2004 Seat Altea. It's a gasoline engine, with 133572 km on the clock. An error is stored, and the steering column won't adjust electrically anymore. I think it's a bad cable or plug connection. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my Altea's column adjustment. Check the CAN bus connection. It might be causing false errors.

CAN bus connection? Can you tell me more? Is it hard to get to?

The CAN bus wiring is near the steering column. Vibration can mess with the connector. If you don't know it, take it to a workshop. They can check for mechanical problems in the adjustment.

The problem is now fixed. It was the cable and plug connection, just like I thought. The workshop charged me 95€.
