Seat Altea Electrical System Problems

I'm having trouble with my 2015 Seat Altea diesel. It has nearly 200k km on it, and now the electrical system seems faulty. The error memory is full, the navigation is dead, and I'm getting electrical malfunction warnings. My mechanic thinks it's a control unit programming issue and quoted 240€ for a fix. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Electrical gremlins are the worst. I experienced something similar with my Altea. The navigation was dead, and the onboard diagnostics gave random errors. Have you checked the vehicle software version? A software change might be all that's needed.

How did you determine it was the software, and what steps did you take to resolve it?

That sounds familiar. I spent a lot of time trying to fix it before discovering it was the software. The garage ran onboard diagnostics that indicated an implausible signal from a control module. They recommended a vehicle software recalibration. I'd recommend booking it in, as it will save you a lot of trouble.

Took it to the workshop, they recalibrated the control module software. That seems to have resolved the issue. Thanks for the assistance, it's really appreciated.
