Seat Altea Engine Problems
Summary of the thread
The Seat Altea is experiencing engine issues, including a check engine light, jerking during acceleration, a whistling noise, stalling when idling, increased fuel consumption, and reduced engine power. These symptoms suggest a potential problem with the turbo system, possibly due to a faulty boost pressure sensor or a defective cable connection. The issue was resolved by replacing the faulty cable connection to the boost pressure sensor, restoring the engine's performance.

That's interesting. Now that you mention it, there's a faint whistling and hissing sound when accelerating. What was the solution in your case?

Yes, the whistling and hissing sound sounds very familiar. If it is indeed the turbo boost, then it is very similar to the issue I had. I am not an expert but it could be a boost leak. I would strongly recommend visiting a workshop to have it properly diagnosed.

Good news, the problem is fixed! The cable connection to the boost pressure sensor was faulty, just like I thought. After replacing the connector, the engine runs like new. The repair cost 95€. Thanks for the help!

I own a Seat Altea as well, and I think I had a similar problem with the turbo system. The engine light came on, and I experienced some power loss. I am not 100% sure, but could it be related to the turbo boost? Did you notice any unusual noises?
