Seat Altea Keyless Entry Problem

Evening. My 2008 Seat Altea with a gasoline engine has developed a rather annoying issue. The keyless access on the driver's door no longer works. I scanned the car and it shows an error related to the door electronics. From what I've read, it's likely a defective cable or plug connection in the door. Has anyone else experienced something similar with their car door?

I had a similar issue with my Altea's door mechanism. It might be the door switch itself or the wiring leading to it. Have you checked the fuses? Also, does the central locking work fine on all other doors?

Fuses are fine, and the central locking works on all other doors. When you say 'door switch,' are you referring to the one inside the door handle? Is it difficult to access and check the connections myself? I'm comfortable with basic car electrics.

Yes, I was referring to the door switch inside the door handle assembly. Accessing it requires removing the door card and potentially some of the door mechanism components. While checking the connections is a good first step, I would suggest you go to a workshop, especially since there is an error stored. I'm not sure of the specific wiring layout for your Altea's car door, and you could cause further damage without proper diagrams or experience.

Thanks for the advice. I went to the workshop and they confirmed it was a faulty connection in the door electronics. 95€ later and the keyless access is working again. Appreciate the help!
