Seat Altea Oxygen Sensor Problem

My 2014 Seat Altea with a diesel engine is throwing up some errors. The check engine light is on, and the error memory suggests an issue with the O2 sensor. I've noticed higher fuel consumption too. Could this be a defective cable or plug connection?

I had a similar thing happen with my Altea. Check engine light and all that. I'd start by visually inspecting the O2 sensor wiring. Any obvious breaks or corrosion?

It's usually located in the exhaust system, before or after the catalytic converter. Access can be a bit tight depending on which one it is. It may be worth taking it to a workshop. My issue ended up being a faulty sensor, cost me around 95€ to get sorted.

Good shout. Where exactly is the oxygen sensor located? Is it easy to access?

Replacing the oxygen sensor seems to have done the trick. The check engine light is off, and I'm hoping my fuel consumption will return to normal. Thanks for the help!
