Battery connections huh? Interesting. What exactly should I be looking for? Any specific signs of trouble?

Yeah, look for corrosion or loose connections. If they look dodgy, clean 'em up and tighten them. If that doesn't work, you probably need to get proper Engine diagnostics done at a workshop. Could be more serious, but start simple. That was the solution in my case.

Took your advice and went to a workshop. Turns out, you were spot on! It was dodgy cable connections to the battery and cost me 155€ to sort out. No more Engine light and my Altea is purring again!

Sounds familiar. Had similar issues with my old Renault Megane. Check engine light came on, wouldn't start. Have you checked the battery connections? Could be a simple fix.
