Seat Altea weird temperature readings
Summary of the thread
A 2012 Seat Altea was experiencing unusual temperature readings, a check engine light, and slow engine warm-up. The initial suspicion was a restricted cooling grille. A similar issue in another vehicle was caused by stuck active grille shutters due to a faulty sensor. The problem was resolved by replacing a faulty fuse related to the active cooling grille, restoring the vehicle's performance.

Overheating wasn't too bad, but yeah, took forever to warm up. How did you figure out the restricted airflow was the issue on your Megane? What did you do about it?

The Megane had similar symptoms. Turned out the active grille shutters were stuck closed due to a faulty sensor. I'd recommend a workshop visit to properly diagnose it, could be more than just a simple obstruction affecting your engine cooling.

Cheers for the help! Turns out it was a faulty fuse related to the active cooling grille. 52€ later and the Altea is running like a champ again!

Restricted airflow, huh? Had similar weirdness with my old Renault Megane. Was the car overheating or just taking ages to warm up? Did you check the radiator grille for obstructions?
