Seat Arona AC Failure

My 2019 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine is driving me nuts! The AC has completely died. No cooling at all, and the system doesn't even seem to switch on. I've read it could be individual valve defects in the AC system. Has anyone else experienced this?

I had a similar AC problem. It turned out to be the pressure switch. Did you notice any unusual AC noise before it failed? Also, have you checked the AC relay? Sometimes a faulty relay can prevent the cooling system from engaging.

Interesting, thanks! Can you elaborate on the AC noise? Was it constant, or only under certain conditions? And where is the AC relay located? I checked the obvious fuses but didn't go further.

The AC noise was intermittent, almost like a hissing sound, especially noticeable at lower speeds and with the temperature control set to max. As for the relay, I'm not completely sure on the Arona, but check your owner's manual; it should have a diagram. Honestly, given your description, it does sound like a valve issue. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop.

Confirmed, the AC valves were faulty. The workshop charged 1000€, which is painful, but at least the issue is resolved. Thanks for mentioning the potential AC noise; I'll listen for that in the future.
