Seat Arona AC issues

I have a 2017 Seat Arona with a diesel engine and 158659 km on the clock. The air conditioning no longer cools, and the system doesn't switch on. There's an error stored, and a warning light appears in the speedometer. The workshop suspects a defective air conditioning control unit. Any advice?

That sounds familiar. I had similar AC compressor problems with my Renault Megane a few years back. Error codes, no cooling, the whole shebang. Did they check the auto refrigerant level before diagnosing the control unit?

They mentioned a fault code pointing to the control unit. Is it possible the refrigerant level could trigger that?

In my case, low refrigerant did throw some weird codes, but ultimately it was a failing compressor. If they're sure about the control unit, I'd trust their diagnosis. Air conditioning repair can be tricky. Best to get it sorted properly.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I took it to the shop, and they confirmed it's a defective AC control unit. Unfortunately, the air conditioning repair will cost 980€. I hope this fixes the AC unit issues permanently.
