Seat Arona Anti Theft System Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Seat Arona diesel owner experienced issues with the anti-theft system, which was malfunctioning and not activating the alarm. The problem was suspected to be a power failure or battery issue affecting the alarm system. A similar issue was resolved by recoding the alarm system to correct an error related to the optical locking feature, which involved the indicators flashing during locking or unlocking. The recoding fixed the problem.

Central locking seems fine. No other errors that I've noticed. You mentioned electrical issues. Was it related to the alarm control or anything similar?

Yeah, mine was behaving oddly after a flat battery incident. The alarm system seemed to go haywire after that. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop and get the alarm control checked. Could be a coding issue after a power failure.

It turns out the anti-theft alarm system was coded to activate the optical locking, indicators flashing when locking or unlocking. The error was related to this. I had it recoded and it's sorted now. Cost me 45€. Thanks for your help.

That's a strange one. I've got a Seat Arona too, and I had some weird electrical issues last year. Was anything else acting up, like the central locking? Or did you notice any other error messages?
