Seat Arona Bypass Valve Error

I am experiencing an issue with my Seat Arona 2017 diesel. The error memory indicates a bypass valve malfunction, and the engine is overheating. Is it plausible that this is a consequential error resulting from another issue?

I had a similar issue with my Arona. Engine overheating and the error memory also showed a bypass valve malfunction. Have you checked the vacuum system? A small coolant leak can cause havoc.

Interesting. When you say vacuum system, are you referring to the hoses connected to the bypass valve? Where was the coolant leak located in your case?

Yes, I meant the vacuum hoses. In my case, the coolant leak was near the thermostat housing. The garage suspected that the engine overheating was the root cause triggering the bypass valve error. I would suggest a thorough inspection at a workshop.

Thanks for the help. Just got the Arona back. As suspected, the bypass valve error was a consequence of a coolant leak causing engine overheating. The coolant leak was addressed, and the bypass valve error disappeared. The car repair was completed without needing to replace the bypass valve itself. Total cost: 0€.
