Seat Arona central locking malfunction

My 2018 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine is giving me grief. The central locking has completely stopped working. I can't lock or unlock the doors anymore. I scanned it with an OBD reader, and it's showing an error related to the locking mechanism. The report suggests a defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

Whoa, sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my Arona, though I can't remember the exact mileage at the time. All the car locks went haywire. The remote locking wasn't working, and the car alarm was acting up randomly. I suspected the key fob battery first, but that wasn't it.

So, what exactly did you do to fix it? Was it something you could do yourself, or did you have to take it to a mechanic?

Nah, I wouldn't attempt that myself. Electrics are not my forte. I took mine to a workshop. They diagnosed it pretty quickly and confirmed it was a dodgy connection. Given the error code you're getting, it sounds like the same thing. If you're not comfortable poking around with the wiring, I'd recommend getting it checked out by a professional. At least you now have an idea of what it might be and what the eventual repair cost might be.

Took it to the workshop today, and you were spot on. They checked the cables and connections, found a defective plug, and replaced it. Central locking is working perfectly again. Cost me 95€. Thanks a lot for your help.
