Seat Arona clutch issue symptoms

My 2019 Seat Arona with a diesel engine is throwing up some really weird symptoms. There's an error stored about the clutch pedal switch. The gear selection is displayed in the speedometer, but it’s not working properly. My cruise control is dead, and sometimes the engine just refuses to start It’s like the car doesn't know I'm pressing the clutch. Could a faulty switch cause all of this I've read somewhere that a defective cable or plug connection could be the culprit anyone else had this

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my Arona – the gear selector acting up and cruise control refusing to engage. It could very well be that faulty clutch pedal switch. Have you checked the connections Is the plug firmly in place, and are there any signs of damaged wires

That's really interesting When you had the problem, did it also affect the car starting Because sometimes it cranks, but doesn't fire up. And did the garage mention anything specific about the cable or plug connection being the issue

Yes, the starting issue definitely rings a bell It's like the car thinks the clutch isn't engaged, so it won't start as a safety measure. From what the mechanics told me back then, the cable or plug can become loose or corroded over time. I'd recommend having it checked out by a professional to be sure, as it can mess up with your gear selector, cause car stalling and other things. Better safe than sorry

Fantastic news Just got my Arona back from the garage. You nailed it it was indeed the faulty switch on the clutch pedal New switch installed, and everything's back to normal. Cost me about 95€, which is way better than I was fearing. Thanks a million for your help
