Seat Arona clutch issue symptoms
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Seat Arona with a diesel engine exhibited issues such as a malfunctioning gear selection display, non-functional cruise control, and intermittent starting problems. These symptoms were linked to an error related to the clutch pedal switch. A faulty clutch pedal switch or a defective cable or plug connection was suspected to be the cause. After replacing the clutch pedal switch, the problems were resolved, confirming the switch as the root cause.

That's really interesting When you had the problem, did it also affect the car starting Because sometimes it cranks, but doesn't fire up. And did the garage mention anything specific about the cable or plug connection being the issue

Yes, the starting issue definitely rings a bell It's like the car thinks the clutch isn't engaged, so it won't start as a safety measure. From what the mechanics told me back then, the cable or plug can become loose or corroded over time. I'd recommend having it checked out by a professional to be sure, as it can mess up with your gear selector, cause car stalling and other things. Better safe than sorry

Fantastic news Just got my Arona back from the garage. You nailed it it was indeed the faulty switch on the clutch pedal New switch installed, and everything's back to normal. Cost me about 95€, which is way better than I was fearing. Thanks a million for your help

Sounds familiar I had a similar issue with my Arona – the gear selector acting up and cruise control refusing to engage. It could very well be that faulty clutch pedal switch. Have you checked the connections Is the plug firmly in place, and are there any signs of damaged wires
