Seat Arona Diesel Camshaft Sensor Issue

My 2019 Seat Arona with a diesel engine has started playing up. It's starting poorly, feels like it has reduced engine power, and I've got an error stored relating to the camshaft position sensor. I've checked the basics and suspect a faulty cable or plug connection. Could this be the cause? I'm thinking it's an automotive sensor problem, but wanted to get your thoughts before diving in too deep. I'm worried about potential stalling and timing issues.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Arona. Same symptoms, rough idling and loss of power. The automotive sensor was faulty.

Was it definitely the camshaft position sensor itself, or could it have been a wiring issue? I've read about those sensors causing timing issues. Did you try anything yourself before taking it in?

Yep, it was the sensor. It's worth checking the wiring but honestly, just get the camshaft position sensor replaced. Save yourself the headache and take it to a workshop.

Took the Arona to my usual mechanic and it was the camshaft sensor, like you said. They checked the wiring, all good. New sensor fitted, error cleared, and she's running perfectly again. Total cost 95€ thanks.
