Seat Arona Diesel Connectivity Issue

Alright, digging into a weird issue with my Seat Arona, build year 2019, diesel engine. I started getting function restrictions out of nowhere. The main symptom is that my smartphone simply refuses to connect. The system throws an error, which is stored in the error memory, but doesn't give much more info. I've checked all the basic stuff – ignition system seems fine, steering is responsive. No engine light is on, and the car drives as expected. I suspect it might be an incorrect pairing with the end device, according to some forum posts I've seen, but I'm not convinced. Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Summary of the thread

Whoa, that sounds oddly familiar! I have a Seat Arona too, and I had a similar connectivity problem a while back. Although, my engine light wasn't on. Was there any other warning sign, maybe related to the fuel system?

Interesting. When you say similar, how similar? Were you getting function restrictions too? And did you have any electrical faults that you were aware of before the connection issue came up?

Yup, complete function restrictions. I couldn't connect my phone no matter what I tried. No obvious electrical faults beforehand, no. Honestly, I was stumped. Eventually, I just took it to a workshop and they fixed it pretty quickly. Might be worth a shot for you too.

Just wanted to follow up. I took your advice and went to the workshop. Turns out, the issue was indeed incorrect pairing with the end device. They sorted it out for 45€. Thanks for the help!
