Seat Arona diesel engine running rich
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Seat Arona diesel was experiencing issues such as reduced engine power, a check engine light, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and jerking during acceleration, suggesting the engine was running rich. Initial thoughts included potential problems with the fuel injectors or spark plugs. After checking the air filter, which appeared fine, the issue was confirmed to be faulty fuel injectors. Replacing the injectors resolved the problem, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks for the tip! I did check the air filter, it looked alright. But could a dodgy air filter really cause all those problems? Reduced power and the check engine light too?

Yeah, mine had similar symptoms, including the check engine light. Turned out it was the fuel injectors causing the bad air-fuel ratio. I'd get it checked out by a professional. They'll be able to diagnose it properly.

Took it to the garage and you were right. They confirmed it was the fuel injectors causing the rich running. Replaced them and the car is running like new again. Total cost was around 515€. Thanks for your help!

Sounds like a fuel issue. I had something similar with my Arona. Have you checked your air filter? Sometimes a clogged filter can mess with the air-fuel ratio.
