Seat Arona electric seat malfunction
Summary of the thread
The passenger electric seat in a 2019 Seat Arona was malfunctioning, with an error stored in the error memory and seat adjustment not possible. Preliminary research suggested a heavily discharged or defective battery as the likely cause. It was advised to check the battery voltage with a multimeter and inspect the seat switch for corrosion or damage. The issue was resolved by replacing the battery, confirming the initial suspicion.

The battery voltage seems okay on the dashboard display, but I haven't tested it with a multimeter. You mentioned a faulty switch. Where exactly should I be looking for corrosion or damage on the seat switch? Is it something easily visible, or do I need to disassemble the switch?

The dashboard display might not be accurate enough. A multimeter test is definitely worthwhile. As for the seat switch, check around the edges and any visible contacts. Corrosion can sometimes look like a white or greenish powder. If you're not comfortable disassembling it, I wouldn't recommend it. Given the symptoms and the potential battery issue, and since you already have an error code stored, it might be best to have a workshop properly diagnose the electrical system. They can perform a load test on the battery and check for any other underlying issues affecting the seat motor and seat adjustment functionality.

Appreciate the insight. The workshop confirmed the battery issue. Resolved the problem with a battery replacement. Total cost was 290€.

That sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my Renault Megane a few years back. The electric seat on the driver's side wouldn't budge. Error memory was full of related codes too. Have you checked the battery voltage? A weak battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical issues. The seat motor might be drawing too much current, and the system is shutting it down to prevent damage. Also, inspect the seat switch itself for any signs of damage or corrosion. Sometimes a faulty switch can cause intermittent problems. Does the issue occur consistently, or is it random?
