Seat Arona Engine Misfire
Summary of the thread
A 2020 Seat Arona with 105,328 km is experiencing engine misfires, rough running, and reduced power, indicated by a check engine light. The initial suspicion is a defective injection valve or injector. Suggestions include checking the ignition coil and spark plugs, but the likely cause, given the mileage, is a faulty fuel injector. The issue was resolved by replacing the bad fuel injector at a workshop, restoring the car's performance.

Thanks for the quick reply. I haven't checked the ignition coil or spark plugs myself. I'm not that experienced with car mechanics. Can I check those without special tools? How do I know which cylinder is misfiring?

The symptoms point to a fuel injector issue, especially given the mileage. Plugs and coils are cheaper to replace, but a faulty injector is likely if the misfire continues. Given your lack of experience, I'd take it to a workshop. They can diagnose it and replace the injector.

Just wanted to let you know you were right. I took it to the workshop, and it was a bad fuel injector. They replaced it, and the car runs great now. Cost 515€, but it was worth it to fix that misfire. Thanks again for the help.

I had similar issues on my Arona. Cylinder misfires can have several causes. Did you check the ignition coil and spark plugs? A bad ignition coil can cause a rough idle and poor throttle response. Which cylinder is misfiring?
