Seat Arona Headlight Range Problem

My 2019 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine is giving me a headache. I'm getting an error stored in the error memory, and a warning light is showing up on the speedometer. The low beams are either shining too far down or too far up. I suspect it's a headlight range control fault in the lighting system, but I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting.

Sounds familiar! I had a similar headlight malfunction issue with my Arona. The low beam was all over the place. Did you check the electrical connectors to the headlight unit? Sometimes a loose connection can cause weird problems with the light intensity and headlight range control. Also, have you tried the headlight switch in all positions to see if that changes anything?

Thanks for the suggestions. I did check the connectors, and they seem fine. All the headlight switch positions seem to work, but the lights are just not aligned correctly. How was your low beam behaving exactly? And what was the fix in your case?

Yeah, mine was doing the same thing – pointing way too low. I tried adjusting it myself, but it was no use. I ended up taking it to a mechanic who confirmed it was an internal headlight issue. I suggest you get it checked out by a professional. They'll be able to pinpoint the exact cause.

Thanks for confirming. I took it to a workshop, and they diagnosed a defective servomotor in the headlight unit. Cost me 1040€ to replace. Hopefully, this fixes it for good.
