Seat Arona Jerking and Hissing

I've got a 2020 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine and about 74000 km on the clock. Recently, it's started acting up. I'm getting jerking when accelerating, a whistling noise that turns into a loud hissing when I put my foot down, and it sometimes stalls when idling. Also I think the fuel consumption has gone up, and the power feels reduced. I'm getting an engine light too. Could this be a defective boost pressure sensor?

Oh my goodness, that sounds incredibly frustrating! I had a very similar experience with my Arona. I nearly lost my mind. Was it throwing up an engine light? The hissing makes me think you have a boost leak somewhere. Check your intake manifold and pressure sensor connections.

Yes, the check engine light is on. Where exactly should I be looking at the pressure sensor? I'm not super familiar with that on this engine.

Right, if the engine light is on and you have those symptoms, it's more than likely what I had. I'm no mechanic, but I'd suggest getting it checked ASAP. The intake manifold pressure sensor is a common culprit and the hissing definitely points to a boost leak somewhere in that area. Best to get it properly diagnosed at a workshop before you cause any more damage.

Thanks, I appreciate you taking the time. I ended up taking it in. Turns out it was a defective cable at the boost pressure sensor. The mechanic replaced it and I paid 95€. Runs like a dream now.
