Seat Arona Oil Pressure Warning Light

My 2020 Seat Arona with a diesel engine is showing an oil pressure warning lamp and a warning light in the speedometer. Car diagnostics revealed an error related to the engine oil temperature sensor and the error memory stored the same. Could a defective cable or plug connection really cause all of this? Seems like an automotive sensor issue.

Summary of the thread

The issue was suspected to be caused by a defective cable or plug connection. The solution involved replacing the faulty cable, which resolved the warning light problem.

I had a similar issue with my Arona. Oil pressure light coming on is never fun, is it? Was the error message also pointing to the oil temperature sensor?

Interesting. Was your repair also related to a defective cable or plug? Trying to get a sense of what I'm walking into here.

Yep, same error message. After a bit of checking, the workshop confirmed it was a faulty connection to the temperature sensor. They replaced the cable, and it's been fine ever since. I'd recommend getting it checked by someone who knows car diagnostics.

Just to let you know, it was indeed a defective cable. Total cost was 95€, parts and labor included. Thanks for the insight!
