Seat Arona Overheating and Communication Error

I'm experiencing a rather concerning issue with my 2022 Seat Arona (gasoline engine). The engine is overheating, and the check engine light is illuminated. I've also noticed coolant spills under the vehicle, indicating excessive pressure in the cooling system. My OBD reader is reporting a control unit communication error. Given the symptoms, I suspect it's a cable or plug connection issue affecting a component. Could this be the cause? I'm trying to gather as much information as possible before taking it to a workshop.

Overheating and coolant spills sound serious! I had a similar communication fault with my Arona, though without the overheating. It threw a check engine light and the diagnostics pointed to a connectivity issue. Did you check the basics like battery voltage and error codes?

Thanks for the quick reply! So, your Arona also had a communication fault? Was it also related to a control module? Do you remember which control module was affected? And did you also have a diagnostic trouble code?

Yes, mine was a control module issue too. Unfortunately, I can't remember the specific module, but the diagnostic trouble code clearly pointed to a communication fault. I'd strongly suggest getting it checked professionally. Continuing to drive with it could cause more damage.

It was indeed a faulty connection, as suspected. The workshop identified a loose plug on the control module. They cleaned the contacts and secured the connection. Total cost was 95€. Thanks for your help!
