Seat Arona parking assistant malfunction
Summary of the thread
The parking assistant in a 2017 Seat Arona malfunctioned, with the error memory indicating a parking aid fault. The likely cause was suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. You mention water ingress. Where should I look for potential issues with the ultrasonic sensors and faulty wiring? I am not sure how easy it is to get to those sensors.

In my case, the ultrasonic sensors had become corroded due to exposure. I advise against attempting a repair yourself without proper tools. Damaging the bumper or sensors could easily exceed the 95€ a workshop would charge. It is best to have it professionally diagnosed and repaired.

Took it to the workshop and it was indeed a faulty wiring connection to a proximity sensor. 95€ later, the parking aid is working again. Thanks for the help.

I had a similar issue with my Arona. Were there any unusual readings from the proximity sensors or rearview camera before the system failed? Did you check the radar sensors at the rear bumper? Is it possible that water got into the ultrasonic sensors or their connections?
