Seat Arona Power Window Failure

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. My 2019 Seat Arona with a diesel engine has developed a fault with the power windows. They just stopped working. The error memory has an error stored. I'm guessing it's the window regulator, but I'm no expert. Anyone had this issue before? Could it be the power window switch? I'm trying to avoid a huge bill.

Summary of the thread

A 2019 Seat Arona experienced a power window failure, with the windows ceasing to function and an error stored in the error memory. Possible causes discussed included the window regulator, power window switch, or window track. The solution involved checking fuses and listening for noise, leading to the conclusion that the regulator motor was likely at fault. Ultimately, a local garage confirmed the issue was with the window regulator, resolving the problem.

Did this summary help you solve your problem?

Sounds familiar. I've got a Seat Arona too, and I had a similar problem with my car window last year. Could not operate the power windows anymore. Did you check the fuses? Also, is there any noise coming from the door when you try to operate the window? If not, it could indeed be the window regulator motor, or even the window track itself. Before you go replacing the whole regulator, have you checked the power window switch? Sometimes it's the simple things.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did check the fuses, all seem fine. There's no sound at all when I try to use the window switches. How difficult is it to get to the regulator motor to check it? Does the door panel need to come off?

Yeah, sounds like the regulator motor then, especially if there's no noise. And yes, the door panel definitely needs to come off to access the window regulator and its motor. It's not the most difficult job, but you need to be careful not to damage the clips that hold the door panel in place. Also, make sure to disconnect the battery before you start messing with any electrical components. Honestly, if you're not comfortable doing that kind of work, it might be best to take it to a workshop. Could save you some headaches in the long run. Is it worth the risk of damaging the door panel or the car window?

Just letting you know it's sorted. A local garage confirmed it was the window regulator. Cost 200€ all in. Thanks for the help!
