Seat Arona rough running

I've got a 2017 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine, clocking 178851 km. Lately, it's been running rough. I'm seeing higher fuel consumption than usual, a noticeable drop in engine power, and it occasionally stalls when idling. Also, there's some smoke coming out the back when I really put my foot down. I've been tinkering a bit, and I'm suspecting something's up with the injection system maybe a cable or plug connection issue. Anyone else experienced anything similar? Any suggestions on where to start looking? Trying to avoid a leak and keep the petrol flowing smoothly.

Reduced engine power, smoke when accelerating and stalling at idle sounds suspiciously familiar. I own an Arona as well and I had a similar problem last year. Have you checked the fuel injectors?

I've been reading about the fuel injectors. How did you diagnose the problem? Did you have to replace the whole injector, or was it something else? Trying to avoid a massive repair bill if I can. Did yours also have high fuel consumption?

I'm not a mechanic, so take this with a grain of salt. The symptoms are very much alike, so I'd bet it's a similar issue. I'd recommend getting it checked out by a professional. It's likely a faulty connection like you said and you might get away with a quick fix, but I wouldn't want to risk driving it for too long like that. Good luck.

Took the Arona to a mechanic, and you were spot on. It was a dodgy plug connection to the fuel injector on cylinder 3. They cleaned and secured it. Bill came to 95€, so not too bad. Power's back, no smoke, and hopefully the fuel consumption will return to normal. Thanks for the insight.
