Interesting analogy. So, if I understand correctly, your Arona had the same symptoms, and it was related to the car battery? Did the automatic restart also fail? I am trying to narrow down the cause before potentially replacing the battery.

Yes, the automatic restart was definitely failing, which was a pain. I ended up taking it to a workshop and they pinpointed the battery. Save yourself the headache and get it checked. A faulty start-stop can be a real nuisance, better sorted sooner rather than later.

The workshop visit confirmed the car battery was the issue. Replacing it got the start-stop working correctly again. The total cost was 290€.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar problem with my Arona, though I can't recall the error code. The engine kept cutting out, and I was getting a warning light too. Did you notice if it struggled to start sometimes? It might be something with the car battery. The start-stop system tends to be the first victim when the battery starts to fail, like the canary in the coal mine.
