Good question. The error memory does point towards the hall sensor. When you experienced this, was it a straightforward sensor replacement that resolved it, or were there other underlying issues at play, such as with the tailgate motor or wiring?

In my case, the error pointed directly to the hall sensor as well. While I initially suspected the tailgate motor, it turned out to be precisely the sensor. Given that you've already identified the likely cause and confirmed the error code, it might be worth taking it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis and sensor calibration. Why spend hours troubleshooting when they can pinpoint it quickly?

Appreciate the insight. It ended up being a defective hall sensor in the tailgate, just as suspected. 95€ later the automatic tailgate is functioning correctly. The shop performed a sensor calibration after replacing the part. Hopefully, this resolves the issue permanently.

I had a similar issue with my Arona's automatic tailgate. Does the error message specifically mention the hall sensor? Have you checked the tailgate motor itself for any signs of damage or loose connections? Perhaps a simple visual inspection might reveal something obvious before diving deeper.
