Seat Arona throttle issue

My 2019 Seat Arona with a gasoline engine is acting up. Mileage is 73904 km. I suspect a defective throttle valve. Getting higher fuel consumption and the vehicle starts poorly. Could this be related to the accelerator pedal module?

I had a similar issue with my Arona. Higher fuel consumption and rough engine idle. Have you checked the throttle body? It might need a throttle cleaning. Is the air intake clear?

Throttle body cleaning? I haven't done that before. How difficult is it to access? And could a defective accelerator pedal module really cause the throttle valve to malfunction?

Accessing the throttle body can be a bit tricky, depending on your mechanical skills. As for the accelerator pedal module, it's possible. It sends signals that control the throttle valve opening. If it's faulty, it could definitely cause issues. Might be worth getting it checked professionally, just to be sure.

Took it to the workshop. They confirmed the accelerator pedal module was causing the throttle valve issue. Replaced it for 205€. Seems to have fixed the high fuel consumption and poor starting. Thanks for the advice.
