Seat Arosa Bluetooth Pairing Problem

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I've got a 2001 Seat Arosa, gasoline engine. I'm getting function restrictions – my smartphone won't connect. There's an error stored in the memory, and the workshop thinks it's a simple incorrect pairing. Any ideas?

Sounds like a comms issue between your phone and the head unit. Have you tried deleting the pairing on both the phone and the Arosa's system and then re-pairing? Sometimes that clears up gremlins like this. Is the engine light on, or any other weirdness happening with the fuel system or ignition system? A bad ground could also cause havoc.

Yeah, tried unpairing and re-pairing a bunch of times, no luck. The error code points to a pairing issue, but it just won't connect. Is there anything else I should try before I take it in? I'm not seeing any other issues, no engine light or anything like that, and the drivetrain seems fine.

Right you are, those pairing issues can be a pain. If you've tried the usual unpair/re-pair routine and it's still not playing ball, it's likely something deeper. Could be a software glitch or a faulty module in the infotainment system. Honestly, for the sake of your sanity and avoiding potential electrical faults, I'd suggest letting a shop have a look. They can diagnose it properly and maybe refresh the firmware or replace the module if needed.

Cheers for the help. Turns out it was just a dodgy Bluetooth pairing. A quick reset at the shop and a re-pair sorted it. Cost me 45€, not too bad. Hopefully that's the end of the electrical faults for a while!
