Seat Arosa bumper antenna issue

I am experiencing an issue with my 2001 Seat Arosa, equipped with a gasoline engine. The error memory is showing an error related to the bumper antenna. Unlocking and locking the vehicle is no longer functioning correctly, and the engine refuses to start without the key physically in the ignition lock. I suspect a defective cable or plug connection within the antenna system is causing signal interference. Has anyone encountered something similar?

Sounds frustrating! I had a similar problem with my Arosa. The radio signal was messed up, and the central locking acted up. Have you checked the vehicle antenna itself? Maybe it's loose or corroded at the antenna mount?

When you say vehicle antenna, are you referring to the one integrated into the bumper? And did you also have issues starting the engine, or was it just the radio signal and central locking?

Yep, I'm talking about the one in the bumper. And you're right, the engine starting thing rings a bell now that you mention it! I messed around with it for a while, but eventually I just took it to a workshop. They sorted it out quickly. Probably best to get it checked professionally!

The workshop confirmed it was the bumper antenna. They found a defective plug connection. The antenna replacement including labor cost me 95€. Everything is working perfectly again. Thanks for your help!
