Thanks for the quick reply. Regarding the wiring, do you know where exactly I should look for the connectors? Is it easily accessible or do I need to dismantle part of the interior?

Right, accessing those connectors can be a bit of a hassle. You will probably need to remove some of the trim panels in the rear passenger footwell area. Given the age of the car and the symptoms you describe, it's probably best to get it checked by a professional. It could save you a lot of time and prevent further damage.

Thanks for confirming. I took it to a workshop and you were spot on. The cable to the rear ventilation flap was indeed faulty. Total cost was 95€ including diagnostics and replacement. At least the rear passengers will be happy now!

Sounds like a pain! I'd check the wiring and connectors to the rear ventilation flap first. Is the error code specific? Can you access live data from the climate control module to see if the flap motor is even trying to move? I think it might be fuse related but it is just an idea.
