Seat Arosa diesel engine issue
Summary of the thread
The conversation centers around a Seat Arosa diesel engine issue where the check engine light is on, the engine stalls at idle, and there's a reduction in power. The initial suspicion is a defective fuel regulator, potentially linked to a failing high-pressure pump. A similar issue was resolved by addressing the fuel regulator, and diagnostics confirmed this as the problem, with repairs authorized to resolve the symptoms.

Yes, the fuel efficiency has definitely decreased lately. I have been monitoring it closely. You mentioned a similar issue. Was it also related to the fuel regulator, or something else?

Yes, it turned out to be the fuel regulator in my case as well. The mechanic told me it's a common issue when the high pressure pump starts to go. Honestly, you're probably best off getting it checked out by a professional.

Thank you for sharing your experience. The diagnostics confirmed a defective fuel volume regulator, which they believe is linked to the high pressure pump. Repair cost is estimated at 1510€. I have authorized the repair. It is a steep price, but hopefully this resolves the rough idling, engine misfire and poor fuel economy issues.

Sounds like a similar issue I had with my Arosa. Check engine light, rough idling, and loss of power. Did you notice any change in your fuel economy before the other symptoms?
