Seat Arosa Diesel engine power loss

Good day. I am experiencing a frustrating issue with my 2004 Seat Arosa diesel. Recently, I've noticed a significant reduction in engine power. The acceleration is sluggish, and it struggles on hills. I performed a car diagnostic using an auto scanner, and it returned a fault code. The error memory indicates some kind of issue, but I'm not very technically inclined. I'm wondering if anyone has encountered a similar problem. I suspect it might be related to faulty chip tuning done by a third-party provider before I owned the car. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It appears a previous owner had some aftermarket chip tuning installed, and it was indeed causing the problem. They reflashed the car computer and removed the faulty tuning. The check engine light is now off, and the power is back. All in, it cost me 180€.
