Wiring harness, you say? Where exactly is that located, and what should I be looking for? The error code pointed to a fuel pump failure, but maybe it's just a symptom of something else.

Yes, the wiring harness connects directly to the fuel pump. Check for any corrosion or damage to the wires and the connector itself. Since you're getting fuel pump failure codes and the symptoms match, it's highly likely the root cause. If you're not comfortable doing electrical work, I suggest taking it to a workshop. Much easier that way and a quick auto repair.

I took your advice and brought the Arosa to the shop. It was a corroded connector on the fuel pump, like you suspected. They cleaned it, and it's running fine. Cost me 95€, so thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Sounds like a classic fuel pump issue. I had a similar problem with my old Renault Clio. Engine would stall at idle, and car performance was terrible. First thing to check is the fuel pump relay and the wiring harness. Any stored error codes?
