Seat Arosa Diesel Preheating Lamp Issue

My 2004 Seat Arosa diesel is acting up. The preheating lamp won't switch off, and there's an error stored. I'm guessing it's the glow plugs. Could this be affecting my fuel efficiency or leading to engine misfires if I leave it like this?

I had similar issues with my Arosa. Preheating light stayed on, and the car struggled with cold starts. Have you checked the glow plugs themselves? They might be the culprit.

Checked the error memory and it says glow plug defective. You had the same error? Did replacing them fix the problem completely?

Yes, the error was identical. Replacing the glow plugs resolved the issue. I would advise getting it checked by a workshop as faulty glow plugs can impact engine combustion, especially during cold starts in a diesel car.

Alright, thanks for the input. Took it to a workshop, and it was indeed the glow plugs. Replaced them, and the light's gone. Total bill was 440€! Ouch!
