So, what exactly was wrong with yours? Was it just a sensor or something more serious like full transmission failure? Trying to brace myself for the worst here.

The workshop confirmed it was a faulty transmission control unit. Apparently, it's a known issue. They mentioned something about the shift lock and gear linkage being affected by the defective unit. It's not a complete transmission failure yet, but driving it like that could cause more damage. Best get it checked ASAP!

Arosa transmission issues sorted workshop confirmed the control unit was faulty. The 1000€ estimate was spot on. At least it's fixed now. Thanks for the heads-up.

Sounds similar to an issue I had with my Arosa. Check engine light, weird shifting, wouldn't always start… Was there an error code when you scanned it? Mine turned out to be transmission related.
