Wiring harness, eh? Where exactly do I find that, and what am I looking for?

The wiring harness is the bundle of wires that runs from the car's main body into the door. You will find it covered by a rubber boot, typically located between the door and the frame when the door is open. Inspect the wires inside this boot for any signs of damage – cracks, breaks, or exposed copper. However, given your description, it may be best to have a workshop take a look. Electrical issues can be tricky.

Turns out it was a dodgy door sensor cable. 95€ later and my Arosa is locking again. Thanks for the advice.

I had a similar issue on my Seat Ibiza. It sounds like a classic electrical issue. Have you checked the wiring harness that goes into the door? Often, wires can get pinched or broken inside the rubber boot between the door and the car body. It is worth having a look.
